PrestaShop with Shein integration

Sales expansion into marketplaces is currently one of the most important directions in e-commerce growth. For many online stores, a natural step is moving beyond their own sales channel and reaching new customers through global platforms. This is exactly how our PrestaShop–Shein integration was created – designed for a store specializing in home textiles.

The goal of the project was to create a solution that enables convenient product publishing directly from the PrestaShop panel, without the need to manually add products in the Shein system. Stability and ease of daily team operations were key priorities.

Why Shein?

Shein is one of the fastest-growing sales platforms in the world, particularly in the fashion and home segments. For a home textiles store, this means:

  • access to a global customer base,
  • the ability to scale sales without investing in additional infrastructure,
  • presence in an international marketplace environment.

However, entering a platform of this scale requires meeting specific standards regarding product data, images, variants, and translations. This is where a well-designed integration plays a crucial role.

What does the integration involve?

The Shein module for PrestaShop enables two-way communication between PrestaShop and Shein. In practice, this means that:

  • the marketplace category structure and requirements are visible on the store side,
  • products prepared in PrestaShop can be published directly to Shein,
  • data is transmitted in an organized way and in compliance with the platform’s guidelines.

From the store panel, you can send:

  • product name and description,
  • price,
  • EAN codes,
  • variants (e.g., color, size),
  • features and parameters,
  • dimensions and weight,
  • images,
  • stock levels.

Preparing the offer for sale

The ability to send products is only part of the success. Proper data preparation is crucial.

  • Category mapping – Each store category must be linked to the appropriate category on Shein. This ensures that products are placed exactly where they belong, in line with the marketplace structure.
  • Translations – The platform requires product names and descriptions to also be available in Chinese. For this purpose, we use a script supported by ChatGPT that generates translations and saves them in the system. Currently, the process requires manual execution, but it significantly accelerates offer preparation for the international market.
  • Images – The marketplace enforces specific standards regarding proportions, resolution, and file size. Proper image preparation is essential for product approval.
  • Variants and colors – Color is a key product attribute. It is necessary to correctly assign and match color values between systems. Each product must have at least one combination (variant), which allows the offer to be properly created in Shein.

Development roadmap

In the next stages, the following are planned:

  • translation automation,
  • introduction of an attribute mapping interface,
  • expanded error logging,
  • further automation of publication processes.

The PrestaShop–Shein integration is an example of a solution that combines the flexibility of an open-source system with the potential of a global marketplace.

Thanks to a properly designed module, it is possible to scale sales without changing the store platform and without revolutionizing daily operational processes.
