The stages of PrestaShop store updating
- We make a copy of a shop. It will be updated on our draft server – so that your customers can make purchases without any unpleasant surprises.
- First, on the PrestaShop engine in which a shop will be updated, we will update or adapt the database. These are, for example, categories, products, orders, customer data.
- The next step is to update the shop graphics. Which involves either a template change or the implementation of a new, dedicated graphic. This stage applies only to major updates (e.g. from 1.6 to 1.7). In the case of smaller updates, e.g. from 1.7.3 to 1.7.5, the step is skipped.
- After the above works are done, once we have conducted the functional tests, a draft link is sent to you. The version we send looks exactly like the actual shop. However, this is a good opportunity for you to check if everything meets your expectations and works as it should.
- After your acceptance, we jointly set a deadline for the store to be updated. Usually it requires a 3 - 4 hour technical break at the shop.
- After finishing our work, the shop returns to full functionality.
